Real Estate Legislature

It is legislated that to be a full status real estate Property Practitioner, you must be found competent in the outcomes-based NQF Level 4 Real Estate. This qualification has 150 credits, which equates to 1 500 notional hours (study hours needed to complete the course).

Apply for a position at a registered estate agency as a candidate.

Register with the Property Practitioners Regulating Authority (PPRA) and receive your Fidelity Fund Certificate (FFC)

Complete your candidacy period. 

Send in your letter of completion of candidacy  and submit your logbook to the Property Practitioners Regulating Authority (PPRA)

Write and Pass Your PDE4 (Professional Designation Exam)

About the Certificate

Many students enrolling in this program possess substantial work experience in the industry. However, they must demonstrate their competence in the qualifications specified by the new act. For such learners, the ideal pathway is the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) route, which offers several advantages. Notably, it requires less time in the classroom and is more cost-effective. To embark on this pathway, learners should have at least 6 months of relevant work experience and must be self-motivated. Previously, completing the qualification was restricted to those already employed by a Real Estate agency, making it challenging for new candidates to enter the industry.

To address this, we now offer the opportunity for learners to study with us even if they are not currently employed, while we arrange part-time internships to provide practical experience. Our classes are presented online, featuring live sessions facilitated by industry experts. Upon successful completion, you will graduate with a Further Education and Training Certificate in Real Estate.

Upon completion of the Estate Agent Qualification, learners will gain proficiency in the following areas:
1.  Analyzing, evaluating, and applying the Real Estate Code of Conduct and Ethics.
2. Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of the various laws, rules, and regulations that impact the Real - Estate function.
3. Performing the Real Estate function effectively.
4 Earn a living.

Is this programme for you?

This Real Estate qualification is for any individual who wishes to be involved in the property or real estate industry.

The qualification is a prerequisite for admission to the professional examination for estate agents, conducted by the Estate Agency Affairs Board. Successful completion of the programme and the exam entitles candidates to be registered as a non-principal estate agent by the Estate Agency Affairs Board.


The Real Estate Qualification is therefore suitable for learners who:

·   Were previously disadvantaged or who were unable to complete their schooling and were therefore denied access to Further Education and Training.

·   Have worked in Real Estate for many years, but have no formal Qualification in real estate or property.
